Clairefontaine papers

Each type of communication calls for a specific technology. Clairefontaine  develops different papers in order to facilitate optimized document production.

There are different papers in cut size reams which accompany all forms of professional life, as well as papers for the printing industry and special papers for envelopes and for writing.

The Etival-Clairefontaine site has three fully automatic ream cutting production lines. All through the ream production process, greatest attention is paid to the sharpness of the cutting, to the sheet trimming and to the packing quality.

Because each profession has particular needs, and because technologies linked to the office world are more and more sophisticated; Clairefontaine has developped specific product lines in order to valorize each printing process.

Essential companions of office life, Clairalfa cut size reams are indispensable for the printing or copying of documents which contain more text than image.

With its exclusive silky touch, Clairalfa favours better colour density, better line definition and no bleeding on inkjet printers as well as brighter colour printing results on laser printers. It also works wonders on copiers.

For documents containing more colour illustrations than text, DCP (Digital Color Printing) cut size reams are the best choice thanks to an extremely bright rendition and a surface which favours high quality colour reproduction

The whiteness of the DCP paper optimizes colour restitution and its uniform texture allows for perfect printing of solids. Finally, its delicate smoothness assures sharper and brighter printing results. DCP paper is designed for use on copiers, and colour laser and inkjet printers.

It exists in a substance range from 90 to 350 gsm, which means that it can satisfy the possibilities of most printing materials
In order to see office life rainbow style, the Trophée range of cut sizes is a true asset. It includes two mains colour families, the cold ones (greens, blues ...) and the warm ones (pink, salmon, cream ...)

For use on copiers, laser and inkjet printers, the Trophée colour range is an excellent tool for organizing and filing. It draws attention for signposting and displaying and stimulates creativity thanks to its rich palette of colours

Clairefontaine's cut size papers also know how to be ecological with Clairmail (lighter), the Evercopy and Evercolor ranges (recycled) and  the new Equality concept (50% recycled fibres and 50% virgin fibres).

Papier Enveloppes Clairalfa - Papiers Clairefontaine
An envelope is a showcase for the sheets it contains. Its quality already conveys a message to the person it is addressed to.

That is why its paper must be totally opaque and protective, just as it should be outstanding through its bright whiteness and its smooth touch.

Moreover, it must be possible for the the address to be handwritten or printed either in offset or in flexographic printing. The paper should be sized so that it can adapt to these different methods of personalization.

Thanks to its strong exercise book experience, Clairefontaine has also specialized in paper for high quality envelopes.

Luminously white, its homogenous formation (also called look-through) makes it very opaque and very smooth and it is very thick (also called bulky) .

The envelope paper produced by Clairefontaine is moreover perfectly adapted to different types of machines for the production, printing and addressing of envelopes .

It is of course used for the production of the white envelopes marketed under the Clairefontaine brand, but also sold worldwide in large quantities to specialist producers of top of the range printed envelopes.

Clairefontaine exercise books, loose sheets, notebooks or pads have in common a paper which has become a reference in the domain of writing .

Produced on the Etival site by Papeteries de Clairefontaine, the 90 gsm brushed vellum has always benefited from the best production techniques on constantly perfected paper machines.

Those who wish for smooth and easy writing and a perfect presentation of their written work appreciate the subtle balance between these different characteristics.

Gradually, its substance has been increased to settle on 90 gsm, which gives optimum opacity and resistance whilst maintaining easy folding.

Smoothness is perfectly regular so that the nib of the fountain pen glides effortlessly, whilst being carefully designed to prevent the ball point from slipping.

Sizing is perfectly balanced so that ink and felt tips do not blot, but at the same time the paper remains "in love" with the ink.

The consistent fibre homogeneity makes writing easy, and allows for discreet yet precise line printing.

Finally, the whiteness is always controlled so that the written word clearly stands out without dazzling the eyes of the writer or the reader.
